Build Your Future Scholarship

The Virginia Asphalt Association (VAA) and its member companies have established a scholarship to assist individuals in starting or furthering their careers in the infrastructure industry. Scholarships are awarded throughout the year through the Community College System.

Background:
Skilled trades are fundamental in shaping infrastructure, buildings and landscapes. They serve as the backbone of community development. Community colleges act as critical hubs for individuals aspiring to enter these industries, providing comprehensive training programs and hands-on experiences that equip students with the skills necessary to thrive in these fields.

Recognizing the importance of fostering talent and supporting the next generation of professionals in construction and aggregates, we proudly introduce the Build Your Future scholarship for students pursuing recognized credentials in skilled trade professions under the Virginia Infrastructure Academy (VIA) umbrella. This scholarship aims to alleviate financial burdens and empower deserving individuals to pursue their career aspirations.

List of VIA credential areas:
• Heavy Equipment Operator
• Welding
• Diesel Mechanic/Technician
• Electrical
